Chinese organizers of the summer Olympic Games announced that 82 people were arrested since the end of the year in the Muslin province of Xinjiang, all of them allegedly preparing terrorist attacks against the games in Beijing. The persons are part of five different groups. Along with the arrested, authorities announced they killed five suspects who were preparing a similar attack.
Terrorism is the main threat during the Chinese Olympic Games, some 100,000 anti-terrorist soldiers being already in alert, one month before the beginning of the competition.
