Lithuanian authorities announced that a cyber attack, suspected of being launched from Romania, targeted the state's financial administration website, which was overwhelmed by requests, Romanian news agency NewsIn informs. Deputy director for taxes Gediminas Vysniauskis declared that no prejudices were registered. However, he declared that most probably these attacks were carefully planned.

He added that preliminary investigations show that the IPs were Romanian. Cyber attacks are very often diverted through other countries in order to hide the real country of origin. In June, several Lithuanian websites were attacked and websites were filled by Soviet symbols after the Parliament forbidden their use.
