Israeli and Bulgarian investors started the construction of seven malls in Ruse, a Bulgarian city near the Romanian border. Representatives of the investors declared that the malls target the 2 million Romanians who enter Bulgaria every year. Romanians started shopping in Ruse because of prices there, which are 40% lower than the ones in Romania.

Two of the seven malls projected are very close to the border line between the two countries. Currently, there are no malls in Ruse but in the upcoming years three of them will be finished, Makler LTD representative Aleksandar Yordanov declared for HotNews.ro.

Aleksandar declared that there are mainly Israeli investors who planned to build the malls mainly for the Romanians transiting Bulgaria. Moreover, it is widely known that there are many people who shop in Ruse monthly.

Israeli investors plan to invest some 85 million euro to attract Romanian clients. At least two of the planned seven malls will be finished by 2010 and the total destined commercial space is 35,000 sq. meters.
