Romanian diva Ramona Badescu became counselor of the new Rome mayor, Gianni Alemanno, and will deal with matters regarding the Romanian immigrants in the area. The actress unveiled her plans as a counselor in an interview for "Diva e donna", quoted by Corriere della Sera.

"I dream of establishing a close friendship between Rome and Bucharest. There are too many misconceptions about Romanians at this moment", said Ramona Badescu in her argument about why entering the political stage. "I know Italians are suspicious about Romanians, but I intend to show them the true face of my country, organizing events designed to help them understand a thing or two about Romania".

Ramona Badescu ran for the April 2008 elections for a counselor seat, but obtained only 54 votes, fat from enough for being elected.
