A 52 year old Romanian died while trying to steal old clothes from one of the Red Cross textile donations container in Germany. The man was discovered by passers by on Sunday, at 8:50 am according to the Winsen police, quoted by Hamburger Abendblatt. Most probably the man bended too much through the trap and got stuck within the container.
When authorities arrived, there was nothing more they could do as the man was dead. The autopsy revealed that the man suffered a stroke which caused his death. German authorities announced the Romanian consulate so that the latter could inform the man's family.
The case is not unique in German. Old clothes containers were, in the early 1990s the main target of the homeless or poor people. If at the beginning the containers were less protected, now they look like a trap for mice.
