The North Atlantic Alliance may be blocked from using transit routes to Afghanistan because Russia suspended its military cooperation with NATO, the Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan has warned. Zamir Kabulov said tensions between Russia and the West following the recent Russian-Georgian conflict may prompt Russia review other such understandings as well, according to the Times, quoted by AFP.

He also said Russia would want NATO to accomplish its mission but it also be the last to lament a NATO departure.

Russia previously said it did not plan to block NATO transport transit through Russian territory to Afghanistan.
