Poland, the Czech Republic and any other countries that would host elements of the American missile shield in Europe may become "designated targets" of Russian ballistic rockets, Russian military official Nikolai Solovtsov declared, quoted by Interfax and Itar-Tass, AFP reports.

Warsaw and Washington signed in August an agreement by which Poland agrees to host elements of the American missile shield in Europe. The US will thus be able to install in Poland, by 2012, 10 interceptors able to destroy any missiles detected in the air. The system is linked to a powerful radar in the Czech Republic.
