The European Union will stop monitoring Romania's justice sector if verdicts will come clear in the high level corruption cases that are currently on the roll, such as that of the former PSD PM Adrian Nastase. Irrespective of the verdicts, the EU needs to see that the system is working, EU Affairs Commission head in the Bundestag, Gunther Krichbaum declared in an interview for NewsIn.

He added that not only European officials are waiting to see that the justice system works but also citizens in Romania. He warned that corruption cases will continue to pile up in Romania as EU funds were not fully verified just yet.
