Several clients of a savings bank in Connecticut lost up to 400 dollars because of a phishing attack conducted by hackers in Romania and Spain, Bristol press informs. After the accounts were emptied, the representatives of Achieve Financial Credit Union suspended all transactions in their European branches.

In the attack, the clients were informed via text messages that their cards have been cancelled. For more details, they were asked to call a certain phone number. Achieve Financial Credit Union officials mentioned that a financial institution never acts this way in credit cards cancellation, and asked those who recognize this type of frauds to call the bank's contact phone numbers.

18 customers have been prejudiced, 16 from Romania and 2 from Spain.
