24% of the sexual crimes committed in Rome have Romanian immigrants as authors, while 42% are Italians. According to official data published by the Italian Foreign Ministry, in 2008 took place 317 aggressions, compared to 339 in 2007.

The data was released during the "Violence against Women" seminar in Rome. According to the officials, Romanians are also the authors of 11% of the rapes in Milan, 10% in Bologna and 7.8% in all Italy. Italians are the authors of 60% of the sex-related crimes in Italy.

85.3% of the victims of rapes are women, 68.9% of them being Italian.
