The European Finance Ministers are in favor of doubling the resources for the International Monetary Fund, up to 500 million US Dollars, in order to enable the institution to deal with the global crisis, AFP informs. The Ministers approved a draft on the subject on Tuesday, further discussions being scheduled for the G20 summit on April 2, in London.

"EU member states support a doubling of IMF resources and are ready to contribute to a temporary increase, if needed. It is essential that the IMF has appropriate financial means to assist countries particularly affected by the current crisis," the document adopted on Tuesday said, according to Reuters.
