The Communist Party won the 44.7% of the votes during the elections in Moldova, according to the last centralized data. Liberals won 14.5%, Liberal-Democrats won 14%, while the Our Moldova Alliance won 9.9%. All other political parties failed to reach the 6% threshold for Parliamentarian representation.

Some 2,600,000 people were expected to vote on Sunday, the turnout being around 65%.

The Communists may form a Government by themselves, holding 44 mandates out of the 101 seats in the Parliament, but they will have to sign an alliance with any of the Liberal formations, in order to elect a president.
