There is no Romanian citizen among the victims of the earthquake that hit Italy on Sunday night, a spokesman for the Romanian Foreign Ministry has announced. "No victim of Romanian citizenship was reported, meaning that no Romanian was wounded or killed", he said, quoted by news agency Mediafax.
The spokesman said the statement was based on preliminary figures from firefighters and the Romanian church based in the region affected by the earthquake, with which the Romanian Embassy to Italy was keeping permanent contact.
