The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, demanded the European Union to "take action" to prevent the threats against Moldova's sovreignity, generated by the recent protests and the pro-Romanian slogans accalaimed in the streets, AFP reports.

"We home that the European Union and Romania, who publicly condemned the violent acts in Moldova, will take action so that the Romanian slogans and flags are not used as a cover to undermine Moldova's sovreignity", Lavrov said.

AFP reminds that the thousands of protesters who rioted on Tuesday the Parliament and the Presidency shouted slogans like "We are Romanians" and "We want to be in Europe".
