Romanian car company Dacia launched Sandero Stepway, a model up to Sandero. The prices range between 9,200 euros and 10,400 euros Dacia said Stepway was not SUV, neither crossover, neither 4x4, as the Romanian and international press anticipated.

Sandero Stepway can be ordered starting June 23, while deliveries start in July. The car is available with a choice of two engines:

- 1.6 litres, 90 HP - 9,200 euros;

- 1.5 litters Diesel, 70 HP, 10,400 euros.

The car is equipped with ABS, two airbags, active steering, headlights for fog and electric windows.

Sandero Stepway confused the car press worldwide, which considered the car to be either a SUV or a crossover. Dacia described the new model by stating it was "a Sandero with dynamic features, a car with sports look tendency".

Stepway is the first Dacia to be sold in both the standard version and featuring a metallic polish. The car is produced in Mioveni (South Romania). She will also be featured in the "Old car" scheme. The model received a 2.5 million euros investment.

The new Dacia will be launched in other European countries, but it is already sold in Brazil and Argentine, since end of 2008, under Renault's brand.
