Romanian Ministry of Finance will employ a scheme, similar with the "First House", through which farmers will have access to bank credits. The ministry will emit deposit certificates. The farmers will take the certificates and exchange them for money at the banks.
Minister of Finance, Gheorghe Pogea, intends to implement a set of measures meant to help agriculture production. According to him, the Ministry of Agriculture has one week to come up with the list featuring all silos in the country.
Pogea mentioned that the scheme will be detailed on Thursday and assured that the banks agreed to subscribe to the programme. The announcement was made after Romanian minister of Public Finance Gheorghe Pogea and minister of Agriculture Ilie Sarbu met with farmers and banks' representatives to discuss additional possibilities of supporting producers in agriculture.
