Romania reported a 9.3% growth of its constructions sector in June this year as compared to May, the highest advance among EU countries, according to Eurostat data. At EU level, activities in the sector dropped by 3.3% in June, while the decline stood at 1.1% in the euro zone countries.

In eight of the 11 countries included in the Eurostat statistical data a drop of construction works activities was reported, while four countries reported growth in June - Romania, Bulgaria (1.5%), Poland (1.2%) and the Czech Republic (1%). The sharpest decline was reported in Sweden (-3.8%).

As compared to the same month a year ago, activity in the sector dropped 14.1% at EU level and 8.8% in the euro zone.
