French President Nicholas Sarkozy appreciated that Romanian authorities are one of the few countries that understood the importance of the French plan to sustain the car industry which managed to save Dacia factories in Romania. In a speech on the Brussels summit, Nicholas Sarkozy referred to his Romanian counterpart, Traian Basescu, RFI informs.

Sarkozy explained that the money invested by the French state in Renault, at the time accused of protectionism, actually saved Dacia factories in Mioveni, South Romania. Sarkozy emphasized that nowadays, nobody classes the French state's decision to sustain its car industry as a protectionist measure.
