Mexican Carlos Slim became the richest man in the world, with an estimated wealth of 53.5 billion dollars, a 18.5 increase compared to last year, according to a Forbes top. For the first time, the top includes three Romanians: Dinu Patriciu with 2.2 billion dollars, Ioan Nicolae with 1.1 billion dollars and Ion Tiriac with 1 billion.
For the first time since 1994, the first position is not held by an American, BBC News reads.
