Singapore Foreign Affairs minister called the Romanian Ambassador to Singapore for talks on Thursday morning regarding the immunity enjoyed by the former business attache Silviu Ionescu. After the meeting, the Romanian Ambassador ,Aurelian Neagu declared that talks were positive. He admitted that there were some disagreements between the Romanian government and Singapore authorities but these were dealt with, Channel News Asia informs.

A week ago, Romania's Foreign Affairs minister informed Singapore authorities that Silviu Ionescu still enjoys diplomatic immunity. Last week, former business attache submitted a penal action against Singapore, and urged the court to cancel the international arrest warrant on his name remitted by Singapore authorities.

On February 2, former Romanian diplomat Silviu Ionescu was officially investigated by the Bucharest Higher Court of Justice for the accident leading to the death of one person and the injury of another two people, and also of a hit and run.
