France needs to answer on Thursday for the critiques put forward a day before by experts of the UN Anti-Discrimination Committee who denounced an increase of racist acts in the country, Le Point reads.

On Wednesday, the French delegation presented a 90 page report regarding measures taken by Paris, after the last hearing at the UN anti-discrimination committee. The Committee announced a the launch of a new national plan to counter racism.

However, the announcement was not convincing enough for the 18 experts of the committees who were concerned about the treatment towards the Rroma community. UN expert Pierre Richard Propser said that what France lacks is political will.

The Presidency and the Government in France decided in the last weeks to shut a series of camps in which several European citizens of Rroma origins were living.
