A group of gypsies blocked on Sunday an important bridge nearby Bordeaux, France to protest after hundreds of them were evacuated from an illegal camp, BBC News reads. About 250 cars blocked for five hours the bridge, causing 5km long queus on A630 highway towards Paris.

The blockage was the first major protest of gypsies since the French government started to take measures to evacuate illegal camps. According to the police, gypsies were evacuated from a camp in Anglet citiy, South of France and were not allowed to install another camp nearby Bordeaux.

Over 40 illegal camps were shut in the last week. The Interior French minister declared that the Rroma will be deported with special rented charters.
