A three years old Romanian child died and his four months old brother has severe burns afer a fire broke in a gypsie camp in Rome, Italian newspapers inform on Friday, quoting local authorities, AFP informs.
Firefighters arrived around 1.30AM to fight the fire. The causes of the fire were not established yet. The injured child suffers 40% burns. The identity of the family was not confirmed, the father of the child being a foreigner.
According to the press, the case involves Romanian gypsies. According to official data, in Rome there are 7,200 gypsies in about 100 camps but humanitarian organizations say that their number is at least double.
