The extradition treaty between Romania and Syria was signed on Wednesday night, Romanian President Traian Basescu announced on Thursday, as quoted by news agency Agepres. "The treaty was signed between the concert and the dinner", Basescu said following a meeting with Syria President Bashar al-Assad in Bucharest today.

The Presidential Administration said in a press release today that following technical talks on Wednesday night Romanian Justice minister Catalin Predoiu and Syria Foreign minister Walid Al-Moalem signed the extradition treaty between the two countries.

The press release says talks are continuing on other important documents to develop bilateral economic relations in fields such as infrastructure, tourism, transports, emergency medical services.
