The joint company due to develop the AGRI project was established in Romania on January 21, 2011, according to information obtained by HotNews.ro from the Economy Ministry. AGRI LNG Project Company will develop the feasibility study for the AGRI project due to bring natural gas to Europe via Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania. According to Economy Ministry representatives, the feasibility study will be conceived by the winner of a tender organized in this regard.

Following the registration of the company at the Registry of Commerce, another phase is the approval by the European Commission of documentation for obtaining the necessary funding of the feasibility study and its inclusion on the list of high priority energy projects of the EU.

According to the Economy Ministry in Bucharest, the European Commission has "received positively" the possibility of including AGRI on the list of priority projects to be funded by the EU.

The company is headquartered in Bucharest, is registered as a Romanian company and will operate according to Romanian law. The three partners in the AGRI project are SNGN ROMGAZ SA Romania, SOCAR Azerbaijan and GOGC Georgia.
