''4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days'', the film of the famous Romanian director Cristian Mungiu numbers among the New York Times critics favorites in an unofficial Oscar list published on Sunday, Romanian Cultural Institute informs.

The movie is mentioned in the top Oscar favorites by 2 out of the three famous film critics of the New York Times. A.O Scott and Manohla Dargis think that the movie should be nominated for an Oscar in the Best Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Vlad Ivanov), Best Original Screenplay categories.

Likewise, the Romanian Cultural Institute adds that the Oscar listing set up by the New York Times magazine has considerable influence in the Oscar official nominees process.

However, the movie competes only in the Best Foreign Film category as the film distributor failed to estimate the success the movie enjoys.

Cristian Mungiu and Vlad Ivanov will attend both the official ceremony in Los Angeles and the Golden Globe awards on January 12 and 13.

''4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days'' will be officially launched in New York on January 25, 2008.
