The violent attacks taking place during the meeting in Belgrade, organized as protest towards the Kosovo self proclaimed independence, "are totally unacceptable", said the spokesman of the EU Foreign Policy Commissioner, Javier Solana. The statement is the first official reprove expressed by the EU after the anti-Kosovo meetings begun.

The United Nations Security Council also condemned the violent acts, reminding the basic principle of diplomacy missions inviolability, France Presse informs. The Panama ambassador (country holding the Council presidency) emphasized that the UN members firmly blame the attacks against embassies in Belgrade.

The United States issued an official protest, calling the Serb government position as "unqualifiable". The third in rank within the US State Department, Nicholas Burns, called the Serb authorities to denounce the complete lack of efficiency of the Serbian security troops.

On the other hand, Serb Foreign minister Vuk Jeremic declared that the attacks targeting foreign embassies in Belgrade are unacceptable and regrettable, being led by extremist demonstrants who do not represent the Serbian people.
