Romanian football player Adrian Mutu suffered an accident during the AS Roma and AC Fiorentina game, the "Brilliant" being forced to leave the field at the end of the first half-time. Mutu injured his knee in a duel with the Brazilian goalkeeper Doni, in the 39th minute and was replaced by Papa Waigo.
After the game, the Fiorentina doctors said Mutu suffered a trauma at a ligament and that the nature of the accident and the duration of recovery will be announced on Monday, after further investigations.
After failing in Rome, Fiorentina fell to the 5th place in the ranking, being surpassed by AC Milan.
