The High Court of Justice and Causation decided on Thursday that omitting recordings in the accounting books or recording inaccurate data is assimilated to the tax evasion crime, therefore is punishable with 2 to 8 years in jail. The Court thus solved an appeal in the interest of the law, tabled by the Prosecutor General, who accused the existence of two sets of practices, according to the two different regulations, in such cases.

One of the laws included such acts into the intellectual fraud line of crimes, the other into complex tax evasion. The sentences for intellectual fraud is one to five years in jail.
