Both the European Union and NATO need to take action in order to facilitate Balkan countries to be included within the North Atlantic security and values space, Romanian PM Tariceanu declared in his speech at the Bucharest Conference organized on Wednesday by the German Marshall Fund.

Tariceanu added that the Summit is a great opportunity to answer the expectations of these countries and to demonstrate the security interests of these regions. Romanian PM emphasized the impact upon the democratic consolidation such plans would have upon Balkan countries.

Plus, he sustained that Romania will support the three countries on the agenda, Croatia, Albania and Macedonia to enter NATO structures. However, he was more evasive when referring to Georgia and Ukraine unlike Romanian President Traian Basescu.
