The Romanian Senate voted on Tuesday a report of a special commission investigating the existence of CIA detention centers in Romania. According to the report Romania did not host nor does it host CIA prisons.
The document was approved by 56 votes in favor, six against and two abstentions. The report rules that there were no CIA detention centers in Romania. Even more, it says clearly that Romanian institutions or officials were never part of illegal transportation operations.
As several international institutions and newspapers have claimed, quoting various sources, Romania and Poland were supposedly hosting illegal US detention centers. Therefore, Romania was urged to clarify this situation and Romania's Parliament set up a special commission to investigate the issue.
