Representatives of producers and supermarkets in Romania signed on Wednesday a good practice code between suppliers and supermarkets. The document will improve and clarify contractual relations between the two. Moreover, the code presumes a contract in which suppliers will be able to sell below the price offered for supermarkets and producers will have to pay the hidden taxes. Moreover, the contract rules that the final price is negotiable.

However, the code will come into force as soon as the Competition Council will confirm that its content does not breach any existing regulations. Among retailers signing the contract were: Metro Cash&Carry, Real Hypermarket, Cora, Selgros, Cash&Carry, Carrefour, Auchan and Kaufland.

According to the document, the code will be respected both by the parties signing it and by any other judicial person, part of the supplier and seller category who declared that will assume the contractual principles.
