IT giants Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and Cisco managed to correct a security flaw that threatened the global Internet network. According to BBC, the companies made available this week an update solving a security breach that affected the clients' Internet connection, allowing the traffic to be rerouted towards false pages, although they typed the web address correctly.

The flaw was discovered six months ago by Dan Kaminsky, security manager at IOActive and specialist in attacks against DNS servers.

The new software update is available through automatic system update.
