Heavy rain has hit several counties across Romania, causing serious problems: in Suceava, North Romania dozens of households were flooded by the heavy rain that affected the region all night long. 25 houses were evacuated and six bridges were destroyed by the water, the level of which reached almost 1.5 meters above normal.

However, counties in Central Romania were also severely affected: a heavy storm cut down electricity in several cities in Harghita where 10 liters/sq meter were registered in less than 15 minutes at a local meteorology point. Moreover, the wind blew over 60 km/hour, Radio Romania informs, quoted by monitoring agency Rador.

Thus, meteorologists warn that heavy rain will continue to hit the North Eastern part of the country today and tomorrow. The National Meteorology Administration issued a yellow code warning for 11 counties on Wednesday.
