More than 7,000 out of all 35,000 Romanian medical doctors submitted their papers in order to find jobs in other countries than Romania. The main source of discontent is the low income, along with the poor working conditions. Their favorite destinations are Spain, Germany, UK and France, where they can earn between 1,600 and 3,800 euro per month, Antena 3 informs.

The most demanded specialties abroad are the family medicine, anesthetics, rheumatology and intensive care. Heath Minister Eugen Nicolaescu denies the existence of any personnel crisis in the Romanian health care system, but recently suggested a 30% salary growth for doctors.
