The military conflict that unfolded in the last days needs to be ceased, Georgia's President Mikhail Saakashvili declared in a CNN interview, quoted by Rador. He added that peace measures should be found rather than armed conflict. Mikhail Saakashvili emphasized Georgia's commitment to cease fire and negotiate peacefully.

Tbilisi officials announced on Sunday night that Russian planes bombed the outskirts of the Georgian capital city including the Tbilisi International Airport. However, Russian officials declared that their troops are not even close to the capital city and that they have no intention to bomb civilians.

Georgia officially ordered their deployed troops to cease fire but it seems that Russians continued the armed attack. Until now, Russia failed to return the cease of fire intention but accused Georgia of continuing armed operations in South Ossetia.

Three days ago, Georgia attacked the separatist republic of South Ossetia which triggered the Russian military intervention in the region.
