Romanian President Traian Basescu will pay a series of visits to Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey on August 20-21, the first such visits after the Russian-Georgian conflict earlier this month. His schedule includes talks with his counterparts Viktor Yushchenko, Vladimir Voronin, Ilham Aliyev, Mikhail Saakashvili and Abdullah Gul.

He is also expected to meet Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

His agenda includes talks on the development of cooperation in the Black Sea region with a deeper involvement of relevant multilateral actors such as the European Union, NATO and the OSCE, the Romanian Presidency says.
