Romanian world boxing champion Lucian Bute managed to defend his title in the match against Mexican Librado Andrade this week-end. After ending the match on his knees, Bute was saved by the bell after which he received the final decision voted in unanimity.

Bute declared that it was the toughest game of his career but that he was happy he won in front of a fierce adversary. Before the game, Bute declared that he would do whatever he could to win the game as he trained a lot.

The Canadian press read that this was the longest count down: the decision of arbiter Marlon Wright was challenged by Andrade's supporters. Thus, Golden Boy promoters even submitted an official complaint, requesting that the game should be re-organized.
