Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu declared on Wednesday that the government will adopt a plan of measures to increase the number of jobs on the market, due to the financial crisis One of the measures offers companies 1,000 euro for each newly created job that hires a person that lost his/her job for at least three months previous to the employment.

Tariceanu detailed the financial plan in a meeting with bankers to discuss the necessary financial and economic measures to counter the possible negative effects of the international financial crisis. Within the meeting, the PM discussed with bankers to acknowledge the problems Romania's economic system has. The main measures announced include

  • the program has three priorities: people, Romanian companies and the banking system
  • the executive will continue to decrease taxes
  • it will allocate 10 billion euro in the next four years to invest in the economic sector
  • starting January 2009, the executive will offer a 5% bonus for all those who pay taxes on time
  • the government will double the budgetary funds for household construction plans
  • Romanians need to know that their deposits are safe

Finally, Tariceanu finished by saying that he is proud to be Romanian, as he previously addressed the people with the syntax "Dear Romanians".
