The Senate Economic Commission rejected on Tuesday both emergency ordinances that set up two regulatory authorities in the telecom market in Romania: the current national authority for telecommunications, ANC and the former one, ANRCTI, secretary of the commission Serban Mihailescu told HotNews.ro. Former ANRCTI chief Dan Georgescu considers that the rejection of the ordinance is impossible.

ANC chief Liviu Nistoran declared that the rejection of the two ordinances would lead to a legislative gap. For his part, former ANRCTI chief Dan Georgescu declared that it was not legal to reject an already approved piece of legislation.

Serban Mihailescu declared that the ordinances did not comply with EU requirements, which demand that this authority should be under the authority of the Parliament and not of the government. Plus, he added that a series of regulations that were challenged by the current ministry pushed the two ordinances to be rejected.
