Labor minister Marian Sarbu declared, after a meeting with union leaders that by the end of next week the ministry will present a document that unions will accept and explain to their colleagues. The main negotiation points were salary benefits and other supplementary gains.

Sarbu announced that some compromises were negotiated regarding benefits and a new ceiling for salaries will be adopted. Sarbu declared that the ministry will put forward a new text to represent a legal ground for a unique salary system in Romania for the budgetary apparatus.

Last week's meeting ended with an agreement on a 10% increase of salary for foreign languages but only for those employees who speak rare languages. Moreover, the 75% salary increase will be offered to those employees who work with European funds, depending on their performance and some holidays will be offered as pay for the supplementary hours worked.
