The state budget needs to be changed, fast, because a budget deficit of 2% will lead the country, for sure, into a profound recession, PSD leader Mircea Geoana declared. His declaration comes after quoted sources in Cotidianul said that IMF estimations for Romania foresee a negative economic growth of 4% and a budgetary deficit of 4.7%.

Geoana admitted that the IMF estimation is pessimist. He criticized the government saying that his party is worried that the government's response is not coherent enough and is overwhelmed by the dynamics of the moment.

PSD proposes a council to relaunch the economy, formed by the two speakers of the Parliament, Prime minister, members of the Cabinet and Romania's Central Bank governor, including the best economic experts in the country.
