The International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR), a program within the United Nations, announced on Tuesday that 5 million Europeans are directly exposed to earthquake risks. The most exposed European countries are Italy, Romania and Greece, a UN press release quoted by greenreport.it reads.

According to the report, issued by ISDR shortly after the devastating earthquake in Italy, "at least 3.5 million people in Italy, Greece and Romania are under the direct threat of earthquakes. Turkey is also exposed, with more than two million vulnerable people".
