Hungarians should be able to elect a regional Parliament, have a government, a budget and an autonomous status, Hungarian Szilagyi Zsolt, standing at the European Parliamentary elections declared, quoted by Romanian news agency Mediafax.

He added that Romania can adopt one of the many solutions that can be found across Europe adopted to assure internal stability and minority integration. He underlined that it is not normal that Hungarians are laid off on ethnic grounds in Romania.

Romania must align to European standards and offer the Hungarian minority the same rights that, for example, Swedish people have in Finland, Zsolt added. Some four thousand people attended, on Wednesday a manifestation marking the end of the electoral campaign of the Hungarian solidarity coalition for the European Parliamentary elections.
