Health authorities confirmed Romania's 12th swine flu case on Friday, Romanian press agency NewsIn informs. A 37 year-old man returned from Canada on June 10, infected with the virus. The patient is currently hospitalised at Matei Bals Institute. This is the third swine flu case for this week.

A H1N1 virus contaminated 29.669 persons in 74 countries, causing the deaths of 145 persons, according to the latest World Health Organisation survey. WHO called the swine flu pandemic alert on Thursday.

The border Police and medical staff will wear protection masks, to prevent a possible A/H1N1 infection, Romanian minister of Health Ion Bazac announced yesterday.
