A Romanian immigrant from the U.S. was sentenced for 30 days of detention and three months of house arrest after he tried to sell to an undercover FBI agent a Nazi art craft object.

Cristian Popescu pleaded guilty when accused with trying to sell an 18 karats golden bookmark, about which the American press sustained that it had been offered to Adolf Hitlerby Eva Brown, his mistress.

The bookmark, said to have been crafted after the Stalingrad defeat, was reportedly stolen from an auction house in Spain. The Romanian claims he bought it in a night club, paying 3,500 dollars.
