Three new confirmed AH1N1 cases were detected in Romania, after an alert received by the Romanian infectious diseases network from their European counterparts regarding a family from Romania traveling in the same plane with a AH1N1 infected person.

Three of the five members of the family caught the virus, Romanian Cantacuzino National Institute confirmed on Thursday. Currently, the patients are hospitalized at the Bucharest Infectious diseases hospital Victor Babes in Timisoara, West Romania and are undergoing adequate treatment.

So far, there are 22 confirmed cases in Romania.
