Romania's main priority at the moment is to get the European Commissioner on Agriculture position and to host the European Energy Agency, Romanian President Traian Basescu declared, at the Annual Ambassador's meeting. He said that Romania has to have a backup plan and asked the press not to inform that Romania is looking for a second option.

He urged Romanian diplomats to sustain the current European policy in agriculture. Basescu acknowledged that Romania's plans to host the European Energy Regulations Agency started too late but there are still chances to get it.

Romania's priority at the European level is to see the adoption of the Lisbon treaty.
