Cristiano Bergodi was dismissed after a 0-0 score against Sheriff Tiraspol in Europa League by Steaua's club owner, famous businessman Gigi Becali. Becali decided to dismiss him after Bergodi did not allow him to see the players during the break.
Becali declared that he felt humiliated when he was not permitted to see the players because of the way Bergodi addressed him. He said that without his dignity, the Champions League is not worth it.
Moreover, about the game Becali declared that Steaua had a lousy game against a team that is weaker than others. Becali said that he cannot stand disrespectful behavior, referring to Bergodi's actions.
Steaua's new coach is Mihai Stoichita. He is due to run Steaua's training on Friday at 10:30 am. Steaua's supporters announced that they will gather around the stadium on Friday to protest against the decision.
