Traian Basescu obtained 32.84% of the votes, Mircea Geoana 29.17% and Crin Antonescu 20.78% according to the partial official results published by the Central Electoral Office on Monday, at 8AM, after counting 48.41% of the votes. The turnout was 53.84%.

- George Becali - 1,85%
- Remus Cernea - 0,64%
- Constantin Rotaru - 0,42%
